Dr Cathy Pearson is a senior clinical psychologist and board approved supervisor. Dr Pearson has over 20 years of experience working as a clinical psychologist. Her diverse background includes working in private clinics, headspace youth centres, adult public community mental health, a state-wide inpatient unit specialising in complex mental health conditions and senior clinical leadership roles.
Dr Pearson has received advanced training in evidence-based therapies including psychodynamic, attachment-based therapies and parts-based therapies. She is skilled in working with individuals facing complex and chronic mental health challenges.
Dr. Pearson is a specialist in treating complex trauma. She employs a trauma-informed approach in her practice, ensuring sensitivity and understanding. With experience working across diverse cultural backgrounds, she fosters a culturally sensitive therapeutic environment.
She is currently taking new referrals from young people 16 and older, adults and older adults. Clients with a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan are eligible for Medicare rebates. Also, clients with private health insurance may be eligible for rebates. Dr Pearson is looking forward to joining the team at Caringbah Family Practice.
