Caringbah Family Practice is a long established and professional private General Practice that is conveniently located in Caringbah.  The practice has easy access with parking available, a comfortable and spacious waiting room, and friendly reception staff to help with your booking needs. With over 11 doctors and 3 onsite nurses, as well as up to date medical equipment, we are able to provide you with the care your require.  Caringbah Family Practice also has a Douglas Hanly Moir onsite for your pathology needs. The Practice is also wheelchair accessible.

Caringbah Family Practice has the following appointment options

  • 15 minutes – Standard Appointment for 1 or 2 issues
  • 30 Minutes – All new patients
  • 15 Minutes – Followup appointment in relation to recent results
  • Walk in appointments – As Caringbah Family Practice is a Private Practice all appointments must be made by appointment
  • Walk in for Nurse – Caringbah Family Practice has 3 exception Practice Nurses who can help with such services as wound management, child hood immunisations and other injections ect

Cancellation Policy

We understand that you may sometimes need to reschedule appointments. When we make your appointment please understand that we are reserving this time for you to see your Doctor.

If you do need to reschedule kindly give us the courtesy of as much time as possible, preferably 24 hours. This allows us to book this time with another patient who may be in need to see your Doctor.

This practice does have a cancellation/non-attendance policy where you may be charged a $60.00 per appointment non refundable fee for non attendance. Please be aware of this when you make your appointment.

Feedback and Complaints

Our aim is to provide quality care to our patients. We are happy to receive your feedback – be it a complaint, compliment or suggestion. Please speak to or email our Practice Manager, (pracmanager@caringbahfp.com) if you have any concerns.

Patients and others are entitled to register a complaint with the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission.

House Calls

Some doctors are available for home visits both within and outside of normal consulting hours for the seriously ill or incapacitated patients who are unable to travel to the surgery.  This includes local nursing homes. Please contact Reception or speak to your Doctor directly to discuss.

Prescriptions & Referrals / Fast Track Appointments

In the interest of your health and safety you will need to see the doctor for a prescription or referral. If you only need a previously discussed repeat prescription or referral, please inform reception staff when booking. It may then be possible to give you a fast track appointment. These appointments are usually phone appointments

Recall & Reminder System

Our practice uses a “recall and reminder” system to improve the quality of your health care. This may be by SMS, post, email or telephone. If you do not wish to be contacted, please notify our reception staff.

Interpreter Services

Patients who do not speak English have the choice of utilising the Translating and Interpreting Service. We also have access to an interpreter from the National Relay Service. Please inform our reception staff if this is required.

Medicare Handling

Our reception staff will conduct an electronic transfer of your consultation receipt to Medicare Australia. Your rebate is then paid electronically into the bank account you have nominated with Medicare.

Health Information Privacy

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff. Each staff member signs and is bound by a confidentiality agreement.

We abide by the Australian Privacy Principles.

Follow-up your test results

You will receive an SMS when your results have been viewed by your Doctor, you may be required to have a follow up appointment with your Doctor. You will also be advised by SMS if your results are “no action” though please keep your appointment with your Doctor if they have indicated to you to see them either way.

Communication By Email

Due to Privacy our Practice does not routinely communicate through email. You can supply your details to your doctor for some documents to be sent directly to you via email.

Emergency situations

In potential emergency situations dial triple zero (000) for ambulance, or proceed directly to Sutherland Hospital Accident and Emergency. Kareena Rd, Caringbah. Phone: 9540 7111 (24-hours).

Annual Health Assessments

Our Practice Nurses attend to the Annual Health Assessments for patients over 75 years of age. Our Practice may contact you to book in an assessment.


Our practice is accredited with the accrediting body, QPA and follow the RACGP Standards for General Practice.
