Covid 19 Update April 01 2022Winter Dose for Pfizer

Atagi has made recommendations on a “winter booster dose” of Covid-19 vaccine for selected populations groups who are a greater risk of severe illness from Covid 19

Adults aged 65 years and older

Residents of aged care or disability care facilities

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island People aged 50 years or older

People aged 16 years and older with severe immunocompromise

The winter booster dose can be given from 4 months after a person’s first booster dose, or from 4 months after a confirmed Covid-19 infection (if infection occurred after the person’s first booster dose). The winter booster can be provided at the same time as the annual flu vaccine.

COVID-19 Update – for 22 December 2021

COVID-19 have you received a message advising that you have tested positive for COVID-19 and may be able to self-care at home?

If you are pregnant, you are not suitable for self-care and should call 1800 960 933 to be linked with a hospital-led COVID service, and also contact your maternity provider as soon as possible for support with your pregnancy care.

If you are worried about your symptoms you can call the NSW Health support line on 1800 960 933 or Healthdirect on 1800 022 222. Or if you have a medical emergency, call 000.

COVID-19 Update – for 11 October 2021

Having a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine is one way we can protect our community against coronavirus.

COVID-19 vaccines help to prevent serious illness and death from COVID-19, and they are free for everyone in Australia.

As per the NSW Health Mandate and the Protection of our staff and patients , Caringbah Family Practice will only be able to see patients face to face who have had both Covid vaccines or who have had a Covid test in the previous 48 hours. You will also be asked at our entrance to show your Vaccine passport, please have this with you.

To obtain your vaccine passport please obtain through myGov or Medicare online or call 1800 653 809 to receive in the mail.

COVID 19 Vaccinations

Caringbah Family Practice has the privilege and is pleased to advise that are are an approved vaccination provider for the AstraZeneca and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

COVID-19 vaccinations are voluntary and free and we are now taking bookings for Patients aged over 16 for Pfizer and aged over 18.

Boosters are available for those patient who are due over the age of 18

When making your booking please ensure you advise of any other vaccinations you have had in the previous 7 days, this will help with your booking date and ensure its not cancelled on the day.

Preparing for you vaccination

Before your vaccination appointment, you should make sure your details are up to date with Medicare. If you don’t have a Medicare card, or are not eligible for Medicare, you can get your free vaccination at a Commonwealth Vaccination Clinic.

Please do not come to your appointment:

If you are feeling unwell with fever, cough, runny nose or other symptoms that could be COVID-19

If you are waiting for COVID-19 test results, have tested positive for COVID 19, are close contact of someone with COVID-19, or in quarantine

General Practice through a Global Pandemic

Caringbah Family Practice is taking the pandemic of COVID-19 very seriously and need your help and honesty to keep our staff and patients safe.We welcome our regular and new patients for appointments. Our Doctors are still committed to providing fantastic support and care to their patients during this challenging time.

We offer telehealth appointments for those patients with any respiratory issues or cold symptoms. If you are unsure please contact our practice to discuss.

You must still wear a mask. As per the Public Health order

We have set up our waiting room, Doctors rooms and other work areas to adhere to social distancing.

COVID-19 testing

We do not offer testing at this practice. Testing can be undertaken (without a referral) at the Sutherland hospital corona virus testing clinic 8am – 4pm, 7 days per week.

The testing criteria has been stipulated by the Department of Health and some patients may not meet that criteria.
